The Jan 15 – Houston Texans against Baltimore Ravens game has the opportunity to be a spectacular and interesting game from start to finish, or a serious letdown. The main reason: both squads have appeared amazing at times this season and absolutely terrible at others.
Super Bowl odds
The Houston Texans have a justification for their occasionally unsatisfactory play, as the team has been affected by injuries all season. 1st, their all-pro wide receive Andre Johnson was lost with a hamstring injury. As if this setback to their offense wasn’t considerable enough, after that , they lost their starting qb, Matt Schaub. Then they proceeded to lose their 2nd chain qb, Matt Leingart, to injury. This set rookie T.J. Yates into the starting position. Despite the fact that Yates has played admirably thus far, it’s yet to be determined how he can fare vs the vicious Ravens’ defense. The Houston Texans struggle through these injuries to a 10-6 record, but limped into the playoffs when they lost their last 3 contests of the season.
Super Bowl betting
Despite the fact that the Baltimore Ravens have appeared extraordinary generally speaking this season, they’ve come up short at mysterious times. After beating Houston 29-14 earlier this year, they lost their next game to woeful Jacksonville as they played some of the worst type of offensive football exhibited by any team this season. Then, after beating Pittsburgh 23-20, they lost their subsequent game to Seattle. So, whilst it would seem Baltimore has the healthier, more comprehensive team, that’s presuming the Baltimore who won those big contests this year shows up.
Odds makers are counting on that. Baltimore is a 7.5 fave at home. Whilst the Houston Texans have a gritty defense themselves, the question is as to whether Houston’s rookie qb can perform well under the stress of a divisional playoff game in a aggressive atmosphere. As the Baltimore Ravens are more skilled and playing at home, they have the upper hand.
